In ‘The Art of Negotiating With Others’, attendees will learn the structural basics of preparing and executing for a proper negotiation. The seminar will include the following topics and related outputs:

  • Negotiation assessment – the reason for a negotiation and defining clear and accurate objectives
  • Properly preparing for negotiations 
  • Identifying the various types of negotiations
  • Understanding all key terms including BATNA, Reservation Point and Target point
  • Building a negotiation plan and reaching objectives
  • Setting aggressive goals/targets for better results in formal or informal negotiations 
  • Developing confidence in negotiating through preparation and analysis
  • How to build better relationships with all parties at the table
  • Using human dynamics in all negotiations
  • Creating better alternatives to increase results
  • Controlling emotions in all negotiation settings
  • Presenting offers (formal and informal)
  • Counter offers and defensive negotiations
  • How to instill a culture of result-based negotiation within your organization 

This seminar will include two role-playing exercises & the effective ‘Moving People off the Status Quo’ explanation.  These exercises are part of negotiation training at Harvard University.

Georges Levesque is an entrepreneur, speaker and founding partner in Levesque & Associates, a Montreal based Negotiation Expertise firm focused on negotiation seminars, advisory services, keynote presentations and negotiation coaching. He has assisted dozens of 
companies & organizations in 8 countries and sits on the advisory board of numerous small and medium-sized enterprises.

For almost a decade Georges was a Vice-President of Sales and Senior Vice-President of Global Business Development for EF Education, the world’s largest private educational organization with over 34,000 staff in 90 countries. He began as an entrepreneur in 1992 selling leather goods to the luggage, handbag and wallet market. Following numerous years of growth, his company merged with Mundi Canada in 2001 creating one of the largest companies in the industry. The corporation was successfully sold in 2004. His areas of responsibilities have continuously been sales and sales management.

A top-level speaker, Georges Levesque focuses on topics of entrepreneurship, negotiation and personal development.

Georges is trained in advanced negotiations and business strategy from both the MIT School of Entrepreneurship and the Harvard Business School. He is a former board member of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), the world’s foremost association for business owners and has traveled to over 100 countries. He is an Award of Merit winner with the Acacia International Fraternity and a member of Air Canada’s One Million Miles Club.

A business graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, Georges lives in Montreal, Canada and has two children, Cassandra (15) & Luke (11). He is fluent in English and French.
