Handling the Politics of Workplace Bullying
How to Create Accountability & Confidence:
Your HR Toolkit to Stop Workplace Bullying and Disruptive Behaviours

If you want to learn from the best; someone who is not only extremely knowledgeable on the subject workplace bullying, but is also humorous, non-threatening and approachable then Valerie Cade is exactly the person to give you not only relevant strategies, but hope and inspiration as well.

- Dovi Mueller, Training & Development, Nebraska State Government

 Presented by
Valerie Cade, MA,
Workplace Bullying Expert, Speaker and Best Selling Author

The concept of ‘office politics’ can drag the morale of your organization down. And what’s interesting is that most people look to HR to ‘fix everything’ leaving the expectations high and unrealistic. Handling these disruptive, abrasive and bullying behaviours successfully requires some non-traditional training. This advanced session is more than ‘winning with difficult people’. Without this kind of training, you’re in the battlefield unprotected.

Finally a customized session especially for HR professionals, managers and leaders!

You will leave with a clear understanding of:

  •  What workplace bullying is and how to decide if it is workplace bullying or disrespectful behaviour.
  • Why bullying happens an what motivates someone to bully.
  • Being able to create trust with all stakeholders and lead them through, not around the ‘issues'.
  • How to lead through the “he says, she says” scenario with employees and how to handle the ‘who do I believe’ challenge.
  • A proven process you can use to fully understand and solve ‘what happened’ and how to resolve staff issues, disagreements and any disruptive behaviour.
  • How to limit your time spent worrying and still remain effective.
  • What to do if you feel you’ve displayed bullying behaviours – how to recover and create true respectful followership.
  • Common bullying tactics used and how to recognize them and stop them.
  • When and how to hold a 3-way mediation and when to hold an intervention: they are different and much needed skills to have.
  • How to support those that reach out to you for help and what to do if you don’t have the support you need.

You will leave with:

  • A clear understanding of how to identify workplace bullying situations and ‘difficult oppositional, abrasive and even passive aggressive situations’.
  • A blueprint for moving forward that will save you time, energy and resources while addressing issues with empathy, discernment and confidence.
  • An renewed sense of hope as an HR professional, manager or leader - after all - who encourages you?

Quotes from previous participants:

"Valerie is an engaging and lively presenter. She held my attention the entire day."

"One of the best presenters I have heard, in general and on this subject."

Valerie presented dynamically and engagingly to both small groups and large.  As word got out of her seminars, the back of the hall became crowded with people switching their elective seminars or just coming to see what the hype was about.  Our participants (mostly Union Stewards) were not disappointed as they received clear identifiers of bullying, the effects on individuals and the workplace, and practical advice on how to deal with the bully, whether as a recipient, a peer, or a leader.
I look forward to bringing Valerie in for more advanced exploration of the topic of bullying and on the topic of Mediation vs. Arbitration for Unions.

- Daryl Grant, Representative, Christian Labour Association of Canada

It was great to have you back again to present “ Handling the Politics of Workplace Bullying: Especially for HR Professionals”.
You are a very engaging speaker, connecting key messages with practical and relevant examples making it easy for participants to understand and relate their own HR situations. Thank you also for spending time engaging with participants prior to and following the session – our members had nothing but positive feedback for you and the program!
Valerie is an excellent presenter. She did a great job of threading the needle with the myriad of points to keep the topic on target.
The workbook was excellent with just enough student activity.
It is a great session with an engaging speaker.
It’s worth the day – very informative!
