Executive Breakfast Series - Workforce Issues, Economic Competitiveness and Government Policy
In December, the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce released their 2018 Manitoba Business Outlook Survey. While some of the results were positive (more than 70% of respondents agree that the province is headed in the right direction and almost 60% said their business is likely to experience, at a minimum, slow, but steady growth), their members saw staffing - either retaining good staff or hiring qualified, skilled staff - as a major challenge in the coming year. Other challenges included the rising costs of doing business (ie: business inputs and wages), government red tape and taxation levels.
What is the impact on business? Businesses that suffer more from labour shortages grow more slowly. What are the realities for Manitoba businesses in balancing finding qualified, skilled staff and the ability to pay for it in today's competitive environment?
Join us on May 15 for a discussion about workforce issues, economic competitiveness and government policy with Chuck Davidson, President & CEO of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce.
