Community Building Groups

About the Program

CPHR Manitoba’s Community Building Groups are open to members only. This program is an intensive series of five 90-minute meetings over the course of 8 weeks, during which you will have facilitated discussions with the same group of people. These discussions will allow you to collaborate with your peers, help each other through challenges, and build valuable business relationships.

The program runs twice a year, in the spring and the fall. Notice of when the application period will open will be communicated on this page and in the weekly HRmatters newsletter.

The goal of the program is to provide CPHR Manitoba members a space that fosters an environment of inclusivity, trust, and respect, where you can build meaningful relationships. These groups should be viewed as a supportive community, where all participants openly and freely exchange ideas, discuss various topics and challenges, and explore potential solutions.

There are two meeting times that you will be able to indicate your preference for through your registration: Wednesday evenings 5:30pm - 7:00 pm and Friday mornings 9:00 am - 10:30 am.

  • Participant cost – $75 early-bird fee ($125 regular). The early-bird deadline is January 17, 2025.
  • Facilitator cost – FREE

What previous participants had to say about the program:

“The Community Building Groups Program has been one of the most engaging experiences I have been privileged to participate in. In addition to having poignant and current topics to discuss and review, the group has also provided amazing connections with other HR practitioners. These connections have endured beyond the dates of the program and have provided resources and peers to review policy, practice and ideas with. The participation in this group provides benefits to all levels of HR professionals from students to executives and I am excited to see the program grow and endure year after year.”
