Scholarship

The HRMAM Scholarship Award recognizes a full time, post-secondary student with an outstanding combination of academic, leadership, extra-curricular, and human resource activities. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student at HRMAM's Excellence Leadership Awards Gala.

Finalist: Amy Guenther, CHRP Candidate

Amy Guenther is pursuing a Bachelor or Commerce Honors Degree at the University of Manitoba - I.H. Asper School of Business, majoring in HR and Finance. She is employed with Evolutionary Consulting Corporation, where she is creating a Health & Safety Orientation Model for dairy barn workers. Through on-site visits at dairy farms in Manitoba, all aspect of the job are incorporated into the module using photographs, documents and video.

Amy volunteered as Director of Logistic Co-Chair for the 46th Annual Commerce Business Banquet; an event for over 700 students, faculty and corporate representatvies. Through months of planning, she selected and recruited a sub-committe of volunteers; created roles; assisted placement; supervised and addressed volunteers' concerns. 

Recently Amy became a Management Development Student at Investors Group where she will rotate through five departments. She is determined to include HR, where she can learn from experienced professionals. Amy would also like to obtain her CHRP designation.

Academically, she has received numerous awards, including: the U of M Merit Award, the I.H. Asper School of Business Entrance Scholarship, the International Centre for Student Exchange Award(s), UMSU Scholarship, and many more. 

She is a President's scholar, is on the Dean's Honour List and was inducted into the U of M Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. She is a Marketing Associate on the Commerce Students' Association Marketing Team. She volunteers for the Commerce Socials' Promo Squad, plays soccer and is a member of the U of M Human Resource Association and the Investment Group.
