Campus Ambassador Program

About the Program

This program is designed for full-time HR students currently enrolled in one of CPHR Manitoba’s accredited post-secondary HR programs. We are looking for students to be a representative and advocate for CPHR Manitoba within their post-secondary program and institution. Ambassadors will work to build relationships with peers and faculty while promoting CPHR Manitoba and the CPHR designation. This is a volunteer position for the 2026-2027 post-secondary school year that will require approximately 5 hours of commitment each month.

Application periods vary, see How To Apply section for programs currently accepting applications. To be eligible for the Campus Ambassador position, you must be a full-time student in one of the programs specified and a student member of CPHR Manitoba.

    • I.H Asper School of Business Bachelor of Commerce (HR Major)
    • Bachelor of Arts (Advanced Major or General Major in Labour Studies)

  • University of Winnipeg Faculty of Business and Economics
    • Bachelor of Business Administration (Specialization in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour) 

  • University of Winnipeg Professional Applied & Continuing Education (PACE)
    • Human Resource Management Diploma

 

Expectations of CPHR Manitoba Student Ambassadors

  • 4-5 hours per month engaging with students about the CPHR Designation. This can be done one-on-one in conversations or in a group setting.
  • Attend at least 3 student led events (career fairs, networking nights, student appreciation weeks, student clubs, career centres) during your ambassadorship, to engage with HR students about the CPHR designation.
  • Initiative to host student events for CPHR Manitoba with your post-secondary institution.
  • Coordinate a time for CPHR Manitoba to come deliver a formal information session to your post-secondary.
  • Utilize your CPHR Membership to engage with the professional community and keep attuned to events that are happening.
  • Communicate benefits of student membership to peers (Mentorship Program, Walk & Talk Program, Affinity Partnerships & Savings, Webinars, etc.).
  • Promote CPHR Manitoba and the CPHR Designation by reposting CPHR Manitoba’s social media posts (as appropriate).
  • Attend CPHR Manitoba’s Campus Ambassador Program Orientation and follow up one-on-one monthly meetings prepared to discuss progress.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidates must:

  • Be a full-time student enrolled in one of the above programs and a student member with CPHR Manitoba.
  • Have strong communication skills and experience with public speaking.
  • Have strong relationship building skills.
  • Be passionate about HR and interested in pursuing the CPHR designation.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage expectations.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Be willing to take initiative.
  • Be a creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor when interacting with peers and faculty.
  • Be comfortable working with various virtual platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

* Familiarity with CPHR Manitoba and the pathways to achieving the CPHR designation will be considered an asset

 * Faculty recommendation letter is an asset
