Accessibility for Manitobans Act:  The Customer Service Standard

CPHR Manitoba and the Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities (MLPD) have partnered to present The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) - The Customer Service Standard workshop.

The AMA is designed to eliminate barriers that colleagues or customers with a disability may face by creating and implementing accessibility standards with respect to five key pillars, customer service, employment, information and communications, transportation and the built environment. The Customer Service Standard workshop will cover an overview of the AMA legislation with a focus on the Customer Service Standard, review and compare the AMA with the Manitoba Human Rights Code, identify your organizational responsibilities and the learn the key principles to offering accessible customer service in your workplace.

Kaye Grant, B.Ed. MBA
Kaye is an experienced business consultant, project manager, researcher and trainer. Kaye has been engaged with MLPD since 2017 to help develop a social enterprise for accessibility consulting services.
Kaye is the Principle Consultant with Reconnaissance Management Consulting Group Inc. She effectively combines her background in education with her business experience to assist non-profit and social enterprise organizations.

Jennifer Sande, B.A. MPA
Jennifer is an experienced organizational leader, entrepreneur, and community connector. A background in entrepreneurship led her to develop the MLPD Accessibility Consulting Services (MACS) program, or Social Enterprise. Her current role allows her to help private sector organizations comply with new legislations by using practical tips and solutions sourced directly from the disabilities community.

Fred Dugdale
Fred has been an active member of the volunteer sector for years, including serving as including Executive Director at the well-known Variety Children’s Charity.
Fred currently serves as board treasurer at both the Manitoba League of Persons of Disabilities, as well as the Manitoba Brain Injury Association. During his career in the not-for-profit sector, Fred has witnessed both organizational challenges in delivering services, and then later as a consumer of services after a brain injury.
