The Conscious HR Leader: Executive Retreat at Red Chair Ranch
Join us for a one-day, executive-level retreat at Red Chair Ranch designed for senior HR leaders who want time to think, connect, and set their priorities for the remainder of 2026.
This is a focused pause. Space to step out of the noise, reflect honestly on where you are, and set clear priorities for the months ahead alongside peers who understand the complexity of your role.
What the day will look like
The Morning - Arrive, Connect, Focus:
Arrival & Networking - Begin with coffee, light refreshments, and intentional conversation with fellow senior HR leaders. Red Chair Circle -Connect beyond roles and org charts, and name what’s real right now like competing priorities, organizational pressure, cultural challenges, and personal capacity. Presence with the Herd - Meet the Red Chair Ranch herd and explore how horses respond to subtle changes in attention, energy, and intention. Through guided, ground-based (non-riding) activities, you will:
- Practice slowing down and really noticing
- See how your presence shapes connection and trust
- Draw parallels between the herd’s response and how your organization may be responding to your leadership.
The Afternoon - Explore Emotions as Strategic Information:
Emotional Awareness & Impact - Through facilitated discussion, you’ll work with the idea “emotions as information: not something to avoid or dismiss: You’ll look at:
- How emotions show up in your HR work (change, conflict, performance, DEI, restructures).
- How your emotional patterns influence decisions, relationships, and culture.
Time with the Herd - You’ll observe how your internal state (calm, rushed, focused, distracted) changes the dynamic with the horses in real time, offering a clear mirror for how your presence affects your team and stakeholders. Your Leadership Path Forward - Pre-work completed before the retreat will surface your current reality and aspirations. In the final session, you will: - Synthesize your insights
Name the key themes you’ve discovered about your presence, energy, and leadership style throughout the day. - Set a clear intention and commitments
Define a leadership intention for the coming months and turn it into 2–3 realistic commitments or practices, along with what you’ll need (support, boundaries, resources) to sustain them. - Peer Sharing
In a closing circle, you’ll share your intention and commitments, creating accountability and connection with peers who “get” the demands of HR at the senior level.
You will leave Red Chair Ranch with:
- A renewed sense of clarity and direction.
- A deeper understanding of how your presence and emotions shape your impact.
- Specific priorities and intentions for the months ahead.
- New, authentic connections with senior HR leaders as an ongoing support network
The day is deliberately spacious, reflective, and experiential so you return not just rested, but refocused and ready to lead with greater intention.
