We are excited to announce the launch of our annual campaign seeking nominations for the 2017 HR Excellence Awards. These awards give us an opportunity as HR professionals to showcase the great work we're doing in our respective businesses. We are always proud to learn about the great work our members are doing and look to the HR Excellence Awards as an opportunity to learn not only about new initiatives companies are undertaking but also to keep abreast of current best practices.
Our committee sometimes hears, why should we apply for an award? We're much too humble for that. Well, we have a few reasons:
- Team Spirit - Your team has worked long and hard implementing a new initiative. It's time to celebrate with them.
- Credibility - Receiving industry recognition and being able to promote that recognition has genuine value. It tells your colleagues, staff, clients, and the market in general that your work has been independently recognized as being truly excellent.
- Recognition - As professionals, we really care about what we do and we work hard to drive business excellence. Sometimes, it's nice to get recognition for that hard work. Besides, it's not bragging if someone else says it.
We also hear about how you 'haven't implemented anything that hasn't already been done elsewhere'. That's okay! As long as it's new to your company and you have results to report, that's what we are looking for! Think about projects that have been undertaken in your organization over the past five years that have had a positive impact on the way you do business. We want to help you celebrate your successes!
We have developed a Preliminary Application which allows members to express interest in nominating an individual or an organization for an award without having to complete the in-depth application. Simply complete the pre-application to give us some basic information and HRMAM will follow up with the individual or organization to complete the full application.
We know that applying for an award takes time, time you may not have. We've put together an application package to help you that includes submission guidelines and helpful points for preparing your submission. We also give you the flexibility to decide whether to use our application template OR submit using your own format. We also have information sessions lined up where we will be able to answer your questions in person. Ultimately, we need to hear your story in order to score and make award selections, but we've tried to help make the application process as easy and as least time consuming as possible. Members of our Awards Gala Nominations Committee will be reaching out to members over the next couple of months to discuss the HR Excellence Awards Nomination process. We are very excited to connect with each of you to discuss the great work you're doing to advance the human resources profession and drive business excellence.
We encourage organizations and individuals to nominate themselves or others for an HR Excellence Award.
