COVID-19 Update
April 15, 2020
As we navigate through this time of uncertainty, one thing is for certain, the HR Profession is at the forefront and being relied upon to lead organizations through these unprecedented times. With that in mind, our goal during this time has been to provide a variety of resources that encompass the needs of all of our members.
To help you sort through all of the information and updates surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve added a resource page to our website. This page is updated regularly with articles, webinars, and information relating to new announcements about government support. We have also been adding content related to COVID-19 in our weekly newsletter and Learn & Connect emails. Beginning this week, we are implementing a weekly Virtual Member Café where you can meet with your fellow HR professionals to talk about the issues/challenges and best practices. Visit our website for more info.
Some of our members are finding they have more time on their hands these days, and are looking for opportunities to develop their skills, so we’ve also been working to continue to provide professional development opportunities. Some of these PD sessions are related to COVID-19 and some are related to the HR profession in general. For those looking for additional sessions, you can access a wide variety of topics through our PD On-Demand.
The spring 2020 National Knowledge Exam (NKE), which was originally scheduled to take place on May 29, 2020, has been postponed. However, CPHR Canada heard from writers who have been preparing and would like to write the exam this spring. For those writers, they have arranged for a remote proctoring of the exam on June 18 & 19, 2020. If you have not yet registered for the exam and would like to, the registration deadline has been extended to April 17, 2020. Click here to register for the exam.
We are also in the middle of our renewal campaign. Membership renewal is payable by May 31, 2020, in accordance with CPHR Manitoba Bylaw 3. However, due to the circumstances of COVID-19, we understand that timely renewal payments may be challenging for some members and employers. If you require an extension or payment plan, please contact Stephanie Smith, Membership Engagement Coordinator, at stephanie@cphrmb.ca.
As a reminder, all of our in-person events have been postponed until further notice. We will continue to keep you posted on upcoming PD opportunities as they become available.
CPHR Manitoba has also been operating business as usual. Staff are working remotely until further notice but are still available by phone and email. With so many uncertainties surrounding the pandemic, it’s been challenging to plan for the upcoming year. However, we remain committed to our vision of advancing the human resource profession, moving our organization forward, and working to meet our strategic goals. We are also committed to supporting you in any way we can during this ongoing pandemic.
We’re all in this together, and our community will only grow stronger as we continue to face these challenges. Stay safe and be well.
