SHRM Designation

The SHRM Certification Pathway is a series of steps that eligible CPHR members can complete in order to obtain SHRM credentials.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a current CPHR Manitoba member with the CPHR designation who:

  • Is in good standing
  • Agrees to the SHRM Certification Candidate Agreement, the SHRM Bylaws and Code of Ethics, and the SHRM Privacy Policy.

Process

If you are interested in becoming a SHRM holder, please visit https://shrm.formstack.com/workflows/cphr_pathway and complete the application form.

If your application is accepted, you will receive an online tutorial directly from SHRM approximately two weeks later. The tutorial provides an overview of the SHRM Competency Model and explores how the competency model supports your professional development.

  • Applicants who are approved and have at least three years professional HR experience will receive the SHRM-CP credential.
  • Applicants who are approved and have at least six years professional HR experience will receive the SHRM-SCP credential.

If at any point after completing the above application form, you have any questions, you can contact SHRM directly at mccertpathway@shrm.org.

Maintaining the Designation with SHRM

Recertification with SHRM is required every three years. Click here to learn more.

Please note: CPHR Manitoba and SHRM are two separate organizations and do not share information regarding Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours with each other. Members holding both designations will need to report their CPD hours to each organization at the interval each organization requires.
