Indigenous Recruitment and Connecting Communities

Description:

This webinar will explore practical strategies for recruiting and retaining Indigenous employees in today’s workforce. Designed for HR professionals, the session will provide guidance on developing effective recruitment policies, outreach methods, and hiring practices that respectfully engage Indigenous talent.

Participants will also learn how culturally safe workplaces contribute to long-term retention, employee wellbeing, and stronger organizational performance. Drawing on trauma-informed and culturally grounded approaches, the session will highlight ways HR leaders can strengthen workplace culture, support Indigenous employees, and move beyond recruitment toward meaningful inclusion, career development, and advancement. Attendees will leave with actionable tools to build respectful relationships and create workplaces where Indigenous employees can thrive.

In this webinar, you'll learn to:

  • Understand the key barriers that impact recruitment and retention of Indigenous employees, including historical, systemic, and workplace factors.
  • Identify effective recruitment strategies that respectfully engage Indigenous communities, organizations, and job seekers.
  • Develop culturally safe workplace practices that support Indigenous employees, reduce workplace harm, and strengthen inclusion.
  • Implement trauma-informed HR approaches that improve retention, engagement, and employee wellbeing.
  • Apply practical tools and frameworks to move beyond hiring targets toward meaningful Indigenous workforce inclusion.
