Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Accreditation Program & National Knowledge Exam (NKE) Waiver Overview

Graduates of an Accredited HR Program may be eligible to apply for a waiver from writing the NKE. With a successful waiver application, you become a CPHR Candidate and are one step closer to receiving your CPHR designation.

All paths to the CPHR designation require one to complete the Validation of Professional Experience.

Prior to submitting your application for the NKE waiver please ensure you have met all criteria for your program. Eligibility criteria can be found in the chart below.

  • HUMR-1022 Employment and Labour Law

  • HUMR-1058 Strategic HR Planning
  • SAFE1000 Occupational Safety and Health
  • HUMR-1028 HR Metrics and Analytics

HRIR 4420 - Compensation
LABR 3140 - Pensions & Benefits
LABR 3060 - Workplace Health & Safety
HRIR 4410 - Staffing & Management Development
LABR 3010 - Labour Law
HRIR 3450 - Labour & Employment Relations

*GPA will be calculated on the above 6 courses.

NKE Waiver - Application and Fees

In order to apply for an NKE waiver follow the link below to complete the application and payment.

Fees*

NKE Waiver fee: $400 + GST
Administration Fee:** - $50 + GST

*Member dues are in addition to the above fees.

**The $50 membership administration fee covers setting up your file with CPHR Canada as a CPHR Candidate and does not include your membership fee.

Transcript: An official transcript sent directly to CPHR Manitoba from the granting institution will be required as proof of graduation from an Accredited Program and to ensure that you have met the criteria for the NKE waiver. Once verified, CPHR Manitoba will approve your waiver and you will be officially recognized as a CPHR Candidate.
